Michael Hanby

Michael HanbyMichael Hanby has been a dedicated champion for client rights throughout his legal career. Graduating cum laude from Boise State University, he further honed his advocacy skills at the University of Idaho College of Law, earning his J.D. As Fall Edition Editor for the Idaho Law Review, he showcased his commitment to legal excellence. Michael’s primary mission has always been standing up for those facing injustice. As a partner at Pedersen Whitehead & Hanby, he specializes in representing plaintiffs. Michael has been a stalwart advocate in personal injury, medical malpractice, automobile and trucking accidents, and wrongful death cases. Michael’s passion for client justice extends to the realm of insurance, where he fervently advocates for insureds, combats bad faith insurance practices, and addresses insurance agent oversights. Michael is a proud member of the American Association of Justice, amplifying his commitment to defending clients’ 7th Amendment right to a jury trial and ensuring they get the justice they deserve. As a member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, he has served on the board, was named Seminar Chair, and currently serves as its AAJ Delegate. Michael has appeared in Idaho State Court, U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Michael and his wife, Samantha, have three daughters, Paige, Kenna and Jossyln. In their free time, the family enjoys cheering for the Broncos and taking advantage of all that Idaho has to offer.
