About Twin Falls

Surrounded by amazing mountain and canyon vistas, Twin Falls is the main economic center for south-central Idaho.  Just a few miles from the heart of downtown, Shoshone Falls tumbles 212 feet to the mighty Snake River below.  Higher than Niagara, the falls are best viewed in the spring of high runoff years before water is put to work irrigating agricultural lands.  The City of Twin Falls is located midway between Boise and Pocatello, about two hours from each.  Our City sits at a high-desert elevation of 3,745 feet above sea level, with the Snake River Canyon at our north edge and mountains rimming the horizons in most directions.  South Central Idaho has a four-season climate.  Daytime highs in July are about 91 (with comfortable overnight lows of 54), while January temperatures typically range from about 37 in the daytime to 19 overnight.  The City receives relatively little precipitation, about 17 inches of snow and 9 inches of rain each year.  Residents enjoy sunny skies about 260 days annually, and the air is dry and clear.  Twin Falls residents enjoy a full calendar of community events and abundant recreational opportunities.  Its easy to feel at home in Twin Falls, and its easy to take advantage of all the good things life has to offer.
